Technology and Education Research Community

About this research community

The Technology and Education Research Community is a collaborative endeavour that explores the dynamic relationship between technology and education. We aim to transform lives through research, education, knowledge exchange, innovation, and multidisciplinary partnerships.

Our current key research areas include:

  • Impact of digital tools on student engagement and learning
  • Development of serious games and other immersive applications for education and training
  • Professional development of educators for various technology literacies - digital, media, data, AI, immersive technologies (VR and AR), mobile tech, and gaming technologies
  • Development of digital literacy and cybersecurity curricula
  • Development of immersive applications (Virtual Reality and Augmented reality)
  • Development of AI-driven personalised learning systems
  • Teacher and student attitudes towards technology
  • Collaborative and social learning technologies
  • Innovative digital assessment methods

We also investigate:

  • Teacher and student attitudes towards technology
  • Ethical and legal issues in educational technology
  • Potential impact of emerging technologies on the future of education
