Peter is a Lecturer in Music Education at the School of Education.

Background

Peter Shanhun has over 20 years of diverse teaching experience in Western Australia, including Classroom Music from K - 12 in Government, Independent and Catholic systems. Peter taught Voice for IMSS for 7 Years, and has taken Choirs in numerous contexts. Peter served as president of the Kodály Music Education institute of Australia, WA Branch from 2016 - 2017. He has completed the Australian Kodály Certificate and a Masters in Kodály Music Pedagogy at the Kodály Institute of the Liszt Academy in Kecskemet. Peter has served in Music Coordinator, Head of Arts, and Head of Secondary positions, and is a past recipient of the Sarolta Kodály Scholarship I awarded by the international Kodály Society.
