Services we offer

With a selection of state-of-the-art equipment, including Western Australia’s only GE Additive Concept Laser Metal 3D printer, our team of industry and academic professionals at the AMH can provide your business the following services and support:

AM Strategy

We can help you determine whether adopting AM can bring benefits to your business. We can assist with inventory assessments, business case development and implementation plans.

AM process development

We can develop the AM process for your part to a pre-production Technology Readiness Level (TRL) in our laboratory. Using our industry expertise, we are able to support you implement the process into production, whether this be in the supply chain or at your own facility.

Upskilling your workforce

ECU can provide the appropriate level of training for your people in the area of Additive Manufacturing. We can offer training tailored to your needs; from a high-level AM short course for management, technical training for engineering professionals tasked with implementing the technology (including quality management aspects) and operational training support for technicians responsible for running the process.

Print Bureau

We are happy to print your own designs on any of our printers.  We can take your CAD models, prepare them for printing and provide you with your part.  See our equipment list for details of what we can offer.

Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM)

If you have a part in mind but don’t have a CAD model, or the geometry needs changing to enable a successful build, our experienced engineers can work with you to redesign your component to get the maximum benefit from the process.

Inventory Assessments

Interested in AM but unsure if it can work for your business?  Our team can look at your catalogue of parts and provide guidance on which may make great AM applications.  We can take this further if you require and look if there is a good business case.

Business Case Development

We can look at all aspects of your current manufacturing process and determine whether there is a business case for AM.  We understand that it's not just cost of materials that’s important, raw material supply issues, non-conformance and high numbers of process steps all add up to cause unpredictable lead times - these can be damaging to your business.  AM can help you bring these back under your control.

AM process selection

We can advise the best type of 3D printing for your application, if we don’t have the process you need we can help you find a vendor who does.

Process development and NPI

We can take your project from the early beginnings of an idea to proving it is a robust process for serial production in a laboratory environment.  Our industry engineer has experience successfully bringing AM into production in a highly regulated industry in the U.K.  We can use this expertise to advise on the next steps implementing the process into production, whether at your facility or in the supply chain.

Post processing

We can provide a number of post processing services.  We have 5 axis machining, heat treatment furnaces, materials testing laboratories and 3D scanning to name a few.  Please see our equipment list for more information.

Reverse Engineering

If you have a legacy part but no CAD model, or even a broken part and require a replacement remanufacturing.  We have 3D scanning technology coupled with reverse engineering software.  We can scan you part and produce a full parametric model ready for remanufacture, wherever you choose.
