Overview

The Centre of Excellence for Alzheimer’s Disease Research and Care is a collaborative research group of scientists based at ECU’s Joondalup Campus and the McCusker Foundation at Hollywood Hospital in Nedlands, Perth. The State Government funded centre is supported by the University, and partners include the University of Western Australia, Murdoch University, Hall and Prior, McCusker Learning and Development, Hollywood Private Hospital, the McCusker Foundation and Amana Living.

Projects

The Centre of Excellence for Alzheimer’s Disease Research and Care’s research is based on a holistic approach to both disease pathogenesis and clinical care. The Centre’s research is trying to advance understanding of Risk Factors for the Development of Alzheimer’s Disease as an outcome of translational research into diagnostics and biomarkers, and enabling research into population-based health outcomes.
