One of the challenges of the research projects concerned with validating the different types of measurement equipment is that we need to compare different samplers. To enable us to compare results from a variety of types of equipment, we use the Workplace Atmospheric Multi-sampler ('WAM'). The WAM has an electric motor which turns a carousel. The carousel can hold 12 samples at a time.
The Belguim Centre for Occupational Hygiene designed the WAM.
The ECU WAM was donated by the Nickel Institute. The University of Utah also have a WAM.
Setting up the WAM for a survey takes some know-how about each of the devices to be installed on the carousel, and the use of the WAM itself.
Thank you to GCG who have created online training material explaining the main features of the Australian WAM.
