Ms Ana Gowrea

Ana is a Lecturer in Community and Public Health Nutrition in the School of Medical and Health Sciences.

Background

Ana is an Accredited Practising Dietitian with over 20 years of industry experience in leading, managing and delivering nutrition policies, campaigns and programs at local, state and national levels.  Ana has also worked in a variety of clinical, regional community, private practice and research positions.  Prior to ECU, she was the Principal Nutrition Policy Officer for the Western Australian Department of Health and a National Director of the Dietitians Association of Australia. She continues to work on community and public health nutrition initiatives with the health promotion team at South Metropolitan Health Service.

She is passionate about maternal and child health; developing strategic and operational public health policies; community development; training and workforce development.
