Research Areas and Interests

I am a keen advocate for raising the profile of sonographers in Australia and aim to encourage sonographer led research. Through my leadership role in the Australasian Sonographers Association (ASA) special interest group (SIG) research committee, I played a key role in the establishment and award of the first ASA annual research grant in 2017.

Having successfully implemented and completed the ultrasound aspect of The Peel Child Health Study (https://lifecourse.org.au/cohorts/pchs/) in collaboration with Murdoch University and the University of Western Australia, I am keen to continue my research in the field of feotal medicine. My special interest is in the study of human’s feoto-placental circulation using non-invasive Doppler ultrasound examinations.

My research collaborations and publications during 2015-2017 played a key role in establishing a recent position statement by the Australasians Sonographers Association (ASA) on Mitigating Sonographer Distractions In Obstetric Ultrasounds (PS_Mitigating_Sonographer_Distractions_in_Obstetric_Ultrasound.pdf (sonographers.org)
