Bachelor of Science (Paramedical Science) K89

The School of Medical and Health Sciences requires that your pre-placement preparation documentation is up to date at the start of each semester and remains valid for the duration of your placement(s).

Mandatory Requirements:

Health-related checks

Health, Safety and Risk Management

  • Annual CPR Update (HLTAID009) - needs to be current during placement
  • Applied First Aid (HLTAID011)
  • Hand Hygiene Certificate
  • Manual Handling (Hybrid: theory online, practical in unit)
  • Mask Fit Testing Certificate
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Training Certificate
  • Student Declaration

  • COVID-19 Vaccination

Placement Site Specific Requirements

  • Some placement sites will require completion of their own specific pre-placement preparation documentation.
  • You will be notified of requirements in SONIA (SMHS Placement Management System) or by your Placement/Unit Coordinator.
  • NDIS Worker Screening.
  • NIDS Online Work Orientation Module.
  • Student Travel Approval Form - for rural/remote placements OR if you are travelling more than 50km for your placement AND will be staying overnight.
  • Risk Management Checklist - only for self-arranged placements.
