General Emergency Response Manager

Overview

General Emergency Response Manager: Resource Training Simulator (GERM: RTS) is a real-time strategy game developed by the ECU Simulation & Immersive Digital Technology Group in partnership with the Department of Health WA and St John Ambulance WA. GERM RTS is a real-time strategy management simulation for use by frontline healthcare professionals and students to improve pandemic preparedness. The simulation challenges users to consider and reflect on issues pertaining to patient flow, resource management and staff management in times of resource scarcity during an evolving pandemic. This project was funded by the Department of Health WA. For further information please contact Dr Brennen Mills.

The simulation itself takes approximately 45-minutes to play and is best completed in a single sitting. Prior to playing, users are heavily encouraged to watch the explanatory video tutorial to better understand in-game functionality. The video tutorial can be found here.
