Melanie is a lecturer within the School of Nursing and Midwifery.

Melanie's teaching philosophy is underpinned by role-modelling behaviours of the respectful and professional Registered Nurse. This approach enables nursing students to develop empowering attitudes towards their own learning and allows growth of their own professional identity.

Research Areas and Interests

Melanie’s research explores the concept of ‘moving-on’ from the impact of critical incidents in health care by studying the experiences of nurses and midwives who were involved in such events. Read her abstract at ECU Research Online
