The School of Science has a strong focus on employability and supporting students and alumni in becoming world-ready. The School has established partnerships and agreements with a range of organisations and professional bodies to provide an extensive selection of free/discounted resources; access to software; and, professional qualifications. Students are encouraged to utilise the breadth of these opportunities.
In addition to the details below, students (and alumni) are encouraged to join the respective LinkedIn groups to find out about the latest opportunities as well as networking with your peers and building your professional network.
Professional bodies provide opportunities to network with industry representatives through conferences, seminars, workshops, competitions and social engagements. They often provide access to discounted access to products and services relevant to their members and some offer training materials and even discounted certifications. Most bodies will also have a dedicated student group/chapter.
The Australian Computer Society (ACS) offers student (and graduate) free membership. To help with finding employment opportunities, the ACS offers a dedicated job seeker platform. A particularly useful benefit is that the ACS offers free access to training content and practice tests for certificates from organisations like (ISC)2, Amazon, Cisco, CompTIA (see below for discounted certificates), EC-Council, Google, Microsoft and Red Hat.
The Australian Information Security Association (AISA) is offering free membership to full-time students. Eligible students can apply here.

Access to cloud services are available through Microsoft Azure (students have access to a range of benefits including credit for various services. A similar offer is available for Amazon Web Services (AWS) with credit for AWS services and access to content and training resources.
Microsoft software is accessible from the Azure Dev Tools website (login with your ECU credentials) and includes access to operating systems, development environments and certain applications (including MS Project).
