Get Connected Career Fair 2024

The ECU School of Science & School of Business and Law hosted our first collaborative career fair and what a huge success! 70 industry professionals from WA and Australia’s top employers exhibited a broad spectrum of opportunities within government, mining, defence, banking, consultancy, and financial sectors. The atmosphere was electric, industry was buzzing with the volume of eager students ready to engage.

700 students had the opportunity to speak directly with a vast range of industry partners across multiple sectors and had some key takeaways:

  • Exploration – opportunity to explore the vast number of industry exhibitors that align to their course, as well as the variety of roles available.
  • Professional Development - real-world advice and guidance from industry professionals on workshops and student sessions currently on offer to enhance their employability skills.
  • Recruitment Opportunities - first-hand information on current and upcoming roles as well as information on vacation/grad program opportunities on offer.
  • Industry Insights - tops tips on industry perspectives in relation to resumes, interviews, grad and vacation applications, skill gaps and more.
  • Networking – building networks in course discipline areas, engaging face to face with industry professionals and past alumni from Australia's top employers, discussing career pathways, how to prepare for employment, and what it is like working in the industry.

The career fair is just one of several events the School of Science runs to support our students growth and employability, ensuring our students have the edge to kick start their career!

A massive thank you to all our industry partners for making this event a huge success. We were extremely grateful to also have the support of so many ECU alumni, it was wonderful to catch up with past school of science WIL students who are smashing their career goals. Deeviana, Sheida, Lachlan, Tarquin, Benjamin, Cameron & Zoe!
