Facing the growing challenge of managing Earth’s resources, my PhD project at Edith Cowan University focuses on land recognition through effective mapping and monitoring by integrating multiple remote sensing modalities. This project aims to address key challenges in feature extraction and the fusion of complex remote sensing imagery, aiming to retain meaningful information with the aid of advance artificial intelligence algorithms. Addressing these challenges can significantly improve land use management and environmental monitoring by providing more precise and comprehensive land use classification. The significance of this project lies in its potential for sustainable development, enabling informed decisions in agriculture and urban planning, and equipping stakeholders to manage natural resources and respond to environmental changes more effectively.
