Overview of thesis

My doctoral research project focuses on developing and optimizing radio frequency (RF)-based jamming techniques to counter unauthorized drones, with the goal of enhancing airspace security and public safety. The project is part of a broader effort to improve drone detection and jamming efficiency under tight power constraints to address the growing challenges posed by the misuse of commercial drones in sensitive or restricted areas.

Specifically, my research compares jamming strategies to determine which approach is more efficient at jamming drone communications in real-world scenarios. Through simulation-based performance evaluation and theoretical analysis, my work aims to determine the optimal signal design parameters to maximize jamming success while minimizing energy consumption. This research contributes to the understanding of narrowband jamming under a fixed power transmission model, which is critical to the practical and legal deployment of counter-drone technologies in urban and battlefield environments.
