Overview

At the Centre for Conservation and Biodiversity we conduct practical and applied research into the ecosystems where we live and work, specifically the wetlands, bush remnants and modified environments that form our large urban parks.

Research themes

The broad theme of the Centre is Urban Ecology, covering the following areas

  • Genomics and bioinformatics, environmental DNA, evolutionary and conservation genetics
  • Ecological restoration, monitoring, geospatial analysis, and management of pests, exotics and fires
  • Wetlands, bush remnants, and urban parks
  • Microbes, plants, fungi, invertebrate, frogs, reptiles, birds and mammals
