Workforce diversity can help enhance business performance by tapping into diversity of thought.
Diversity on its own, however, is unlikely to achieve such outcomes without the creation of a strong sense of psychological safety. In safe workplaces, where individuals feel included and encouraged to speak up with their ideas, questions, or concerns. This requires an inclusion focus which is increasingly critical given the changes in WHS legislation that introduces psychosocial risks as risk factors.

Dr Judy Lundy is a Lecturer in Management and the Director of the Master of Business Administration program in the School of Business and Law. Judy has a broad range of research interests that include Inclusion & Diversity, Inclusive Leadership, Workplace Wellbeing and Workplace Learning. Dr Lundy has a long career in the education, consulting and hospitality sectors and has taught HRM, Organisational Behaviour and Change Management in leading business and hospitality schools in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and The Netherlands.
