Injury Management Coordinator

The course will provide you with practical injury management skills and knowledge of the processes to return a worker to work after an injury.

We have researched and developed a new short course in response to the West Australian Workers Compensation and Injury Management Act 2023, which became live on 1st July 2024.  The course provides explanatory information on the injury management requirements, followed by the practical processes to follow.

You will be provided with a handbook that includes the processes to use, templates and resources to help you in your workplace.

This short course is designed for anyone who needs to take injury management action or who needs a detailed awareness of the legal requirements.  The course is suited to existing injury management coordinators or advisors who need an update, or, people new to the area who have been asked to take on an injury management coordinator or advisor role.

This course is designed to enable you to coordinate injury management in your organisation, be aware of injury management requirements, or be part of the injury management team.

Written in 2024 by injury management experts, this course incorporates the latest research and practice in this important area.

  2. Review of injury statistics and work place injuries
  3. The role of the Regulator
  4. The Claims Process
  5. Workers Compensation forms
  6. Supporting the injured worker
  7. Roles of and communicating with key stakeholders
  8. Case study (Filling in the forms)
  9. The 5 steps of injury management
  10. Return to work programs - design, implementation and benefits
  11. Dispute resolution: Conciliation and arbitration
  12. Legal representation
  13. The Code of Practice

Inclusions

At the start of the course, you will be provided with a handbook that includes templates and resources to help you in your workplace.  The facilitator will show you how to conduct injury management using a variety of engaging learning material and case studies.

About the presenter

We have developed a practical and useful course to show you what to do to be an injury management coordinator.  ECU partners with Elect Training and Consulting to deliver this course in a face-to-face format.

Upcoming courses

This course is delivered in face-to-face mode over two days.

Duration: 2 days
Time: 8:45am arrival for 9am start to 5pm
Location: Elect Training and Consulting hold the metro area courses in Perth CBD and Victoria Park. We will confirm the address once you have registered.
Price: $1100 (including GST)
Mode: Classroom
